Oinkari to Dance at Kennedy CenterThe Oinkari Basque Dancers have been invited to our nation's capital to dance in an exhibition of folk dancing. They will be dancing for a program sponsored by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Library of Congress on July 14th, 2004. This will be the second trip that the Oinkari's have taken to Washington, D.C.
The Folklife Concerts are free public performances of traditional music and dance drawn from communities across the United States. Reviving a Library tradition of folk music presentations that dates to the 1940s, most of the noontime concerts will be held on the West steps of the Thomas Jefferson Building, Library of Congress.
